If you take something from the city, put something back in.
— Jack Preston

In Episode 3 of the Music Is... podcast, Jeremy sits down with Jack Preston. Jack is an artist, photographer, musician, rapper, producer and podcast host. He is also a huge believer in the potential of the city of Atlanta. Jack is a featured artist in the Tunewell collection and his music wraps southern roots delivery with time-warped textures and soundscapes. He also recently collaborated with Tunewelders and the We The People Ensemble to score the #weloveatl film, The Time Is Right. His podcast, Digital Good Times, nearing 100 episodes, brings together disconnected communities through storytelling and technology. As usual, our journey spans philosophy, inspiration, social impact and many other waypoints for the creative process leading to Jack's ultimate definition of music.

With Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and 56 Marietta Street, Atlanta is the most connected city in the country. Why do still struggle with connection? Jack and I talk about community and giving back to our city. His musical influences range from David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Jack White to Andre 3000 and J-Dilla. We discuss the process of writing music for film and how he came up with the hook for one of the tunes for The Time Is Right
